I am looking at Yoga Journal's facebook post about choosing the best yoga town in USA and I have to admit I'm getting a bit jealous. I see people from all over America and Canada writing about cities they live in and their yoga communities...Ok, I know for the big cities, but I am surprised to realize that in the towns with population of only 5.000 people exist such strong yoga communities.
I wish Europe could look up to it...I live in a town of about 30.000 people in which does not exist a yoga studio (i know about 5 people that are sometimes gathering to practice ashtanga yoga), and the city i opened my studio in is few kilometers away and with a population of 50.000 people. My studio is the first one there - only if you go to big cities you can find different yoga studios, and that makes me very sad. I find it comforting being surrounded with people that practice yoga, having a teacher that can help you in deepening your practice, correcting your mistakes and inspiring you in having a better yoga practice and being a better person. And that is what I miss here. Hopefully, with my studio I will develop a tiny yoga community and help in spreading yoga in my country :)

here I am :)
True, I haven't been here for few days, but I'm keeping my promise :) It's funny, few years ago I was a regular blogger. I blogged for three years, almost everyday. I even started to think in form of posts and I used to find inspiration everywhere. But, since my country is pretty small, and back then the bloggers society was not so big, I got frightened of reckognition (since I wrote about daily events and my thoughts), so I stopped writing. But, here I am, back again :)
Anyway, I've been trying to build some kind of yoga society here in my small town. Not working quite as I planned. I moved from a big city a year ago, and still havent found either a job or a decent circle of friends. And no, I am not an anti-social person. Quite the opposite, in fact. Luckily, my homwtown is near, so I go home once in two weeks to get my yoga refill in my favourite studio and few cups od coffie with my friends.
But, back to yoga. Regarding the circumstances, I opened a yoga studio (since there is none here). But, the problem is that people ask, they write e-mails and even call on the phone for some information, and they say they'll come. But, no one does. So, now I am getting a bit worried. How do I attrack people and make them see how yoga is beautiful?? Do you have some idea??
P.S: My studio is beautiful....here's a glance.

world's worst yogini
Ok. I know I didn't keep my promise about writing regulary, but it's gonna change. As one of my yoga teachers suggested, this year (the year I'm learning about yoga and attending my teacher training) is gonna be a year only for me. As I dont write my journal as I should, this will be my way of keeping notes.
First, few things about me and yoga:
- I am extremly lazy when it comes to self-practice...I love to practice, I really do. But aduring my dancing days I got used to having people around me while practicing and it feels weird doing it at home, alone, with no one to tell me if I do my positions the right way. So, as in my TT I have to develop self-pracite, I'va managed to do it max 2-3 times per week. I know, I'm a poor yogini :(
- The thing that kept me in yoga is the way that you always have something to aspire to. And the feeling when you do the position you haven't done before is like a drug to me
- I like the way yoga made me more self-concious...although I think I am still at the beginning of my yoga path, i've already felt some improvements.
- Meditation - for me, it's the worst thing. Or is it the chanting? I dunno....Every time I try to meditate, I become nervous. No matter how many times I try, it just doesnt work for me. And chanting - me singing in front of the people, no way. Om is just fine :)
- Not a vegetarian, not a vegan. As much as most of the yoginis avoid meat, I have to say it I love it. Junk food included.
